On October 14, 2025, PRSSA held an AdPR Connection Prep meeting, intended to inform students about the advertising and public relations-centered career fair.

AdPR Connection is on Tuesday, October 21, featuring graduating student networking hours, professional panels, and the career fair. The directors are Annabelle Glisson and Olivia Ford. 

Participating companies and employers include Ammunition, William Mills Agency, Cookerly PR, Jackson Spalding, MORE Creative Agency, NEBO, Caren West PR, Sprouthouse, Pineapple PR, TEGNA, and See.Spark.Go.

Daryn Zongrone, Career Consultant for Grady, then shared how to prepare for the career fair, such as assembling a business casual outfit, printing resume copies, researching employers in advance, practicing elevator pitches, update LinkedIn headshot with the free professional photo booth, attending career center drop-ins for resume reviews, and using Quinncia as an AI tool to review resumes. 

Elevator Pitches

  • Why: purpose, cause, or belief. 
  • How: process and values. 
  • What: The services or skills you offer. 
  • Make sure to include your major and year. 
  • Know why and how you stand out amongst others.
  • Don’t try to fit every little thing on your resume. Keep it to one page. Show that you can describe yourself in a concise and effective way. 

LinkedIn Advice: 

  • Digital Resume 
  • Connect with others.
  • Post as much as you want. Do semester recaps.
  • Post the projects you do in class. 
  • The career center has examples of messages to send to employers. 

Resume Advice: 

  • Headers and subheaders should be personal for what you want to do. 
  • STAR method for writing the bullet points under your experience.  
    • Situation 
    • Task 
    • Action 
    • Result 
  • Show, don’t tell. 
  • Provide numbers for what you did.
  • No more than one page. 
  • Remove high school experience if you are older than a freshman, unless it is crucial to what you are talking about.  

Interview Skills: 

  • Bring in a personal interest of yours to make you personable. 
  • Bring up passion, then talk about campaigns that you can relate to that passion.
