Why you should join PRSSA today

When it comes to choosing which clubs to become involved in at the University of Georgia, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with the countless options you are presented with. The UGA chapter of PRSSA has become the home of many students, including my own. Here are some of the many reasons why you should consider making it yours too!
- Connect with other students who share the same interests and career goals as you. Meet the friends who will be sitting next to you in each of your PR classes and who will later be bracing the industry world at your side.
- Attend meetings with industry professionals to learn more about the public relations field. These professionals share their personal stories, new industry trends, tips and tricks on how to land your dream job and so much more.
- Network with speakers, fellow students and other professionals at all of our events in order to secure connections in the industry. You will be able to attend ADPR Connection, a networking event specifically for advertising and public relations students with representatives from over 50 companies. As a PRSSA member, you can attend this event for free!
- Learn important tips about the industry that will set you apart from your competitors. Our speakers, members and alumni are happy to answer all of your burning questions regarding jobs, internships and the field in general.
- Get help perfecting your resume and learn key pieces of advice regarding internships during our boot camp meeting prior to ADPR Connection. You will receive the hands-on help you need from advisors to prepare for ADPR Connection and any interview or job application that comes your way.
- Gain access to scholarships and grants through the PRSSA website.
- Receive information about internships and other incredible opportunities in order to broaden your experience through PRSSA’s members-only job list sent out through our listserv.
- Attend events such as our holiday social and our Senior Banquet.
- Gain access to agency tours in Athens and Atlanta to secure that incredible internship you’ve been dreaming of.
- Become even more involved and gain leadership experience through becoming a committee member, committee head or even an executive board member.
