ADPR Connection is a student-run networking event that is hosted by UGA PRSSA and UGA AdClub. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 and will include a coffee hour, senior luncheon, workshops and a career fair, located in UGA’s Tate Grand Hall. In past years, the event has brought in more than 100 professionals from over 50 companies to interact with more than 600 students. Attendance is free for everyone who wishes to participate! Classic City Tour
The Classic City Tour offers members a chance to meet local talent in Athens and across the UGA campus. Last year we visited Jackson Spalding, See.Spark.Go and the UGA Sports Communication department. The 2019 tour is scheduled for Thursday, November 21 from 9AM until noon and is organized by Kim Landrum. Applications and details will be forthcoming.

Lockheed Martin Communications Leadership Development Program Info Session
Each fall semester, graduates from the Lockheed Martin Communications Leadership Development Program visit Grady College in an effort to recruit new applicants for the two-year post-graduate program. The Lockheed Martin CLDP is a full-time, two-year rotational program that delivers a diverse communications experience. Immersed in the inner workings of the world’s leading advanced technology company, you’ll develop extensive, career-building skills through a variety of training and development opportunities.
For internal and external communicators, you’ll spend one year growing your expertise in employee communications, executive communications, community relations, social media, marketing communications and media relations. For visual communicators, you’ll spend two years broadening your skills in visual storytelling, graphic design, branding, motion graphics, web design and photo and video production.
During the program, you’ll also have the opportunity to attend two leadership development conferences and network with LDP peers from disciplines across Lockheed Martin. We also support and encourage our participants to continue their education and provide tuition reimbursement for a master’s degree.
Cox Communications LEAD Program Info Session
Each fall semester, graduates from the Cox LEAD Program visit Grady College in an effort to recruit new applicants for the post-graduate program. With targeted, accelerated development, the LEAD Program is a tremendous opportunity to join a company in an innovative industry. You will be given the opportunity to receive meaningful and challenging work, real accountability, access to senior leadership, hands on mentoring and coaching, and the chance to network and grow with those leading Cox into the future. You will also gain exposure to all sides of the business, including operations, finance, marketing, technology, product development, and sales. We also have a training and development program that will fit your experience and career goals. You will have the opportunity to receive the fundamental training and skills needed to be a top performing project manager while obtaining on the job experience.
PR For Good Nonprofit Tour
Each spring, PRSSA sponsors a tour of nonprofit agencies and talks to PR professionals about what it’s like to work in a nonprofit environment. Kristen Smith leads this tour and students will visit various nonprofit agencies including American Cancer Society, Goodwill of North Georgia and the High Museum of Art. Click here for more details.
Atlanta Agency Tour
The Atlanta Agency Tour is hosted by Kim Landrum and offers members a chance to meet visit different types of PR opportunities including corporate, agency, national/international, and boutique. In the past we have visited Dodge Communications, MSL Group, Edelman, UPS, and many others. The 2018 tour information will be forthcoming but usually takes place in late January or early February. Washington D.C. Tour
Grady College AdPR has placed many graduates in cities like Washington, D.C. for many years. The premise behind this event is to allow students the opportunity to get inside PR, AD and Public Affairs based agencies and organizations and actually engage with the type of work professionals in the field do every day. There will also be opportunities for individual networking, one-on-one resume critiques with industry professionals and much more. The second night of the program will also feature a large networking event with Grady alumni. This tour has given many of our top students the opportunity they needed to land their dream job in Washington, D.C.
This event isn’t just for students that already know that they want to work in D.C., it is also for students who might not have even considered this nation’s capital until now. No matter your interest, major or professional goals, everyone will get something out of this unique opportunity.
